I can't choose!
Lately I've been listening to a LOT of Three Days Grace.
I LOVE Panic! At The Disco, Taking Back Sunday, 30secondstomars, This Providence, All Time Low, Cute Is What We Aim For, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, The Academy Is.., Amber Pacific, My Chemical Romance, and basically every band signed to Victory Records (with the exception of a few), and Fueled By Ramen.

For f*ck's sake, AFI and The Cure are not "emo".
You don't even hear true emo music anymore. It started in the 80's and pretty much died in the 90's.
If you want to listen to real emo, then go back to the DC bands that spawned the genre. Like the Rites Of Spring. Do some research people. And don't label bands especially if haven't listened to their entire catalogue.
And cutting has got nothing to do with emo either. Emo is a genre and that's it.

Texas is the Reason, The Promise Ring, Braid, Sunny Day Real Estate. This is back when emo was actually called post-hardcore, and before the marketing companies got ahold of it.

The Fray and Augustana...well, they're not really emo. They sing about emotional things, but I guess you can classify them as alternative rock(I don't think of them as emo either). So I guess I'll say Fall Out Boy.

Sunny Day Real Estate
The Cure (some would argue synth-pop, but emo wouldn't exist without them)
I've never even heard these bands you people aren't mentioning, I guess you can tell that the crowd out there is young and doesn't know ****.
