I've usually got $10-$20 in my wallet at all times. I was wondering about the rest of you.

I'd say about 15-30 at all times. Incidental money is what I call it. Sure, I may have like 200 sitting on my dresser at home, but if a robber wanted my money, they're not taking all of it so I've still got the upper hand.

That sounds about right in the urban USA. Enough to take care of incidentals but not so much that you'd be upset about losing a lot of money if you got mugged etc. Although you might carry more in a large city where the cost of living is higher. A good gauge is, enough for a cheap meal and/or a taxi trip home from any part of town.
In rural USA, and in other countries, your mileage may vary.
