Are you talking about a single rose or a whole plant? There are at least four so-called "black" rose plants that I know of: (1) Black Baccara w/ darker and smaller blooms than (2) a Black Magic Hybrid Tea, (3) Ink Spots, and (4) Black Cherry. Jackson and Perkins (The Kings of roses that can be found at almost any good nursery when in season) is presently offering a Black Magic online for $17.95. You can view it at the site listed below:

You can dye a rose. Put black Indian ink in some water and put the stem of a light-colored rose in, as if you were putting it in a vase. The rose will drink up the water and the ink will dye the petals. It might take a day or two.

"true" black roses are nearly impossible to find, and probably unaffordable unless you happen to be saudi royalty. there are a few very deep red roses that pass for black roses on the market, they can be found by special order at some florists who have connections to a large wholesale florist who actually care enough about their customers to place special orders with a few specialty growers..... good luck. (i have gotten a few dozen of these purely by luck at a local wholesale merchant over about 15 years of browsing reguarly, but they would order some if asked i think)

try your local floral store. i've never bought a black rose before although i've seen a dark blue one. if still in vain, try googling for it on the net. best of luck!

they don't grow black so your best bet is to dip it in paint or to spray paint it. if it's an "i hate you because you broke my heart" anti-valentine gift, a dead rat works much better
