cause of it? I am 34 and I have had mine for going on 3 weeks. This has never happened to me before. I've always been very regular. I took a home pregnancy test and it was negative, so I am not miscarrying. What could be wrong?

There could be a few different reasons for it. I have known 3 or 4 people that had this problem. My sister's reason for the problem was because of a c-section she had and the doctor screwed some things up in there. Some women have fibroid tumors which aren't cancerous that can cause all kind's of problems. Endometreosis can cause problems. About the only thing you can do is go to a doctor and see if they can figure it out. They might just need to do a DNC to get things straightened out. Good luck, and best wishes.

When I was 33, I began to have long periods. Sometimes, there was only a couple of days break in between. I found out it was due to too much weight loss. I was trying to get back to my college weight. Just 10 lbs lighter. Well, after getting older and having a child a few years ago, my body would not let me get that low. So I gained 7 pounds back and it stopped. I was back to normal. I had read about that in a medical encyclopedia. My OB/GYN didn't even mention weight loss to me.

I'm deep in the throws of menopause. My periods were always semi-regular then boom!--I've had my period for almost a month! And heavy, too. It's horrible!

Look into a practitioner that will give you natural, bio-identical hormone replacement.

Try reading up on it here:

And do NOT let your doctor put you on synthetic hormones or the pill. They've been linked with cancer.

I have had that before when I was on a birth control that wasn't strong enough. And when I had a bad breakup.. Started like 5 days after I had already stopped. Could be stress related.

Whatever could be wrong is something that needs to be diagnosed and possibly treated by a trained and qualified person. That person is your doctor.

Yes, I bled for a year. It was due to a hormonal imbalance and I was not ovulating at all.

Go see your Gyn to see what is causing yours.
