At ovulation time you should have 'egg-white' type mucus. After ovulation it should begin to dry up and it should go back to what it was like after your period. If pregnant you may find that it carries a bit more moisture, but basically, the mucus is for aiding in fertilization or preventing things from entering the body. Not really anything to do with pregnancy.

You will see excess egg white cm if you have conceived, but you will see the same thing if your period is coming.
