if you are able to, go into the room, where you will give the speech, and look out at the room and pretend you are giving speech. practise looking at all the seats as if the people are there. get use to speaking to them. when it comes time to give the speech you will at least have been up there once before.

This used to work like a charm for me through college. I was a nervous wreck giving speeches. I had to compose a 10 min speech in French. I had written it and practiced it all evening till midnight or later. Got too sleepy; set the alarm for 3 a.m.; awoke and in a semi-sleep, read it over once and fell asleep again. Awoke late, rushed to school and wasn't thinking of the speech. Was called on, I stood and spoke it flawlessly--not in a trance, but with the expression I had practiced the night before. Got an "A" and NOBODY was more surprised than I was!! This technique served me well for tests, too. The rereading of the material in this semi-sleep state DOES THE TRICK!! I think it's some form of auto-genic memorization or something. Of course all the thinking, analyzing etc. has to be done when awake!!
TRY IT SOMETIME! I'd love to hear if it works for others....There is NO nervousness!!!

To me it depends, I get like that when I'm usually not interested in the topic or I haven't done much research to be talking about it in front of class. The main problem for me is what I have to say. It's usually easy for me to go up there look people in the face with a smile and say what I have to say. Sometimes deep breathing helps. I keep in mind to present it my way when I get distracted by another good presentation. I realize everyone gets nervous but now it depends on how I distribute what I know and how well the audience stay focused. I do this by presenting it the best way I think the audience can get the most out of it. When I get distracted I remind myself everyone feels this way too and it usually help me stay focused and get over it. Good luck and have a nice one.

if the audience is quiet enough, then u wont no they're there and over that when u look up dont look AT them, look to the back of the room. then eventually ull get comfortable with looking up, then u can start looking at the audience espcially try looking in sumppls eyes. it makes them feel like u no wut ur doing and stuff. also practice A LOT b4 the day, that way ur comfortable with ur talking aobut and u KNOW wut ur talking about.

Remember this...
"What other people think of me is none of my business"
You are just as smart or smarter than the people in your class, if they don't like it, who cares. You are not defined by what your classmates think. Know your stuff and do your best!
