By itunes, do you mean songs you purchased from iTunes? If so, you obviously do need an itunes account to buy songs on iTunes.

But iTunes uses an mp4 format which will only work on Apple players. To use them on a non-apple player you have to use iTunes to burn a CD in WMA format. Then, use windows media player to rip the CD into an mp3 file on your computer. Then use windows media player to load the song onto your memorex player.

It's a pain int the neck but it is the only way I've found to do it.

iTunes only works for the iPod. The reason for this is because iTunes uses their own DRM (Digital Rights Management). Napster, Rhapsody and I think Yahoo (maybe..) have their own DRM and can be used with any/all music players available.

No, you cannot. Apple is actually being sued for infringeing on fair use laws. They might drop the DRM (Digital Rights Management) in a few years. This might help: http://www.g4tv.com/pile_player.aspx?video_key=15171

I use iTune son my Windows computer...I'm using it now and it works fine. As long as the programs are compatible, it'll work. Check out apple.com for more details.
