Does Congress have a right to correct social wrongs?

The Congress through its law-making powers can correct social wrongs. The irregularities must be brought before Congress so that investigations will be conducted to make a bill for said problems.

Congress is "we, the people". If we want to correct social wrongs we have the right (and some would say the obligation) to do so.

That all depends on the social wrong you are talking about. Things that destroy the country, yes. Things that are just controversial, no, but they try anyway. The problem lies in determining the difference between the two.

What is wrong is only wrong based on opinion. It doesn't matter how bad it is. I could say that homosexuality is wrong and you could say that it isn't. I could say murder is wrong and you could say it isn't. So in this case congress would be biting off more than they could chew. Fear the factions.....

I guess so but I don't agree with the way they go about it most of the time. they spend more on the people who are supposidly helping those in need then those in need.

if it deals with threating nature towards another person. I would think that this would inflict with the 1st amendment........most likely you could make the connection...
