How to be friends with someone you like?

I was seeing this guy that I had only know a short time. Acorrding to him things got in his words to seriurs to fast. So he decided that he want to drop the whole bf/gf thing and start back as friends. So my question is how to be friends with him even though my feelings for have not change to much. He still says he likes me and that he cares about me to an extent.///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
ONE more question mainy for the guys but all helps is welcome. If your gf or someone you like and want to get to know is 24 and still lives at home would you be less likely to come around because you think she has no privacy and her mother is always in her business. If so whould moving out in your own place make a difference to you. What else whould make a difference or show that she is more secure? {He stated that he wants her to become more secure}

well the first part, its hard to like someone you've had a more than a relationship type with them.
Flirt often when you can, joke around, don't be serious, be a helping hand. Be sweet, affectionate, sometimes a little naughty, lol it`ll go along way
