My sister, whom I consider to be quite brilliant, defines athletic activities such as figure skating, gymnastics, and cheerleading, as non-sports. Her reasoning is that the scoring is subjective. A true sport must have an objective form of scoring (i.e. clock in racing/swimming sports, runs or goals in others). Gymnastics, ballroom dancing, figure skating, cheerleading, etc.-though they are high intensity, don't count by her definition as a sport. They are demanding athletic activities. I have to say, I think she has a point. And I'm a former gymnast, so I don't come from a preconceived idea that such activities are any easier than objectively scored sports. In fact, I think the opposite is true. The training and conditioning for gymnastics is very intense. But, by a definition like my sister's, which I have to say is the most objective definition I've heard, they're not sports. However, if you're looking for someone to back up the argument that they are sports, you can always bring up the fact that the OIympic Committee calls gymnastics, figure skating, and trampoline all sports.

glad you seem to like cheerleading!
I like to watch basketball.
Other than that - anything my kids get involved in is great to watch.
I saw this thing the other day -these guys were in a big field of snow with something like snowboards but bigger - they had huge kites that looked like parachutes only smaller so they didn't lift off of the ground and they were sailing over the snow and looking like they were having a great old time. You'd have to have a huge field for it with no overhead wires or trees to get tangled up in though. Would love to try it.

track. track. and more track.
in my opinion its easily the best sport out there.
i run just about everything from the dash up to the 800 (not counting all the field events!) so its more fun for me i guess.
keeps me on my toes by never knowing what im gonna do next.

I play football and basketball. I love football because you can take out your agression, and one play can change the whole game, and basketball because of how smooth the game is. At leat if you dont suck it is.
