I mean, do westerner understand and accept and respect Asian culture and its society, for example: opening shoes before entering house, respect the elderly (any) as you respect your own parent or grandparents, accepting someone if practicing strict law of thier religion (dont drink alcohol, wearing closed attire) even he/she is not your friends or someone you know. I really wanted to know, since there being lot of misunderstanding between westerners and asian

Most westerners do not understand Asian culture. Many people that do not understand something have no interest. Its not a case of respect but one of just not knowing and being unwilling to make the effort to understand. Many people feel they have more important things to do instead of understanding a foreign culture.

I'm not even sure most asians respect asian culture and society, it all depends on the person. Different places have different customs. I don't think a westerner will ever encounter an asian that does all of those things or any. I know that it isn't only asians who do those things so you never no.

I can't speak for all Westerners, but I know that I do. Then again, I was married for fifteen years to a man from Nagoya, Japan. But I was already that way when I married him.
Asian culture is really rich and amazing. There's so much to be learned from studying it and experiencing it. I particularly like the way the elderly are treated.

It depends on the Westerner, and whether or not they have any cultural awareness.
I've been appalled by the behavior of Americans when I travel out of country, but then I've been appalled by the behavior of people who travel to America from other countries who behave badly.
I think if we judge all people by the ones who come over as tourists, then there's a good reason for misunderstandings.
