I don't want to erase all the URLs in the address bar, just certain ones that I don't want to see there anymore.

this tool will let you selectively delete them one-at-a-time or check off and delete several and parts of your browsing history if you want: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/iehv.html

The URLs in the address bar are also known as the "Typed URLs". If you aren't scared to edit your registry, you can edit them by navigating to this key in your registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs

to get to the registry: START>RUN.. type: REGEDIT

(1.) Click START
(2.) Click RUN
(3.) Type REGEDIT

** NOTE OF CAUTION! You can completely screw up your computer if you delete inappropriate files in your registry. Be sure to make a BACKUP of your registry before editing it (FILE >> EXPORT). **

(4.) Navigate as follows through your registry as follows:
HKEY_LOCAL_USER >> SOFTWARE >> MICROSOFT >> INTERNET EXPLORER >> TYPED URLS

(5.) Highlight the URL you don't want to see anymore (you have to click on the URL#, i.e. URL1) and hit DELETE on your keyboard.

Hope that helps.

you can't.. they all have to be deleted. To do this, open your windows browser, click on tools, go to Internet options, find your Browsing history then delete it.
