What exclamations did you utter when you learned about the 9/11 attack?

Will you share with us your emotions during the terrorist attack? I'm sure you uttered them. . How did you put them in words?

I was teaching a class when a student walked in (late) and said that a plane had hit the WTC. As far as I can recall, i said, "Really?"

For the most part, I watched the video feed in silence. I had a terrible feeling once the second plane hit, and didn't need the chatter of the news reporters and "experts" to tell me why. I remember walking back to my class and telling one of my students, who was in the militia reserves that it had been a pleasure having him in my class, but that he probably should call his commanding officer, since I assumed he would be called up. (He did, and he was.)

At lunch time there was a staff meeting, and I urged that the students be sent home, since it was pretty clear that the local subway system would be shutting down, and most of the students came by subway.

All and all, I felt sick and sad, terribly sad, for the families of those who had been killed. I had, almost from the beginning, hundreds of questions in my mind about what had happened, and why so little had been done to prevent the attacks...questions I still feel are unanswered.

I don't remember exactly what I said, but when I first hear about it while it was happening, I thought it was just a freak plane accident. Then when the 2nd one hit, I knew it was bad. I may have said something like "Oh My God !!!"

Many have forgotten 9/11. It may happen again if we don't wake up. Iran is getting nukes and I don't think we can stop them.
