Subaru WRX STI. Awesome. You will leave pretty much EVERYONE at the red light, if you care to, and you will lose everyone in the twisties. $33,495.

Here's a different answer for you - get a classic Mini Cooper S. Or just a regular classic Mini, and modify it a little. They drive like go-karts. Very zippy, can beat just about anything in the twisty stuff, not a lot of power, but you don't need it - they only weigh just over a half ton! 85 hp stock (and there's LOTS of factory mods available) and 1200 lb...same power to weight ratio as a hot hatch with 250 hp. Only the Evo 8 and the STi can beat that...and this is a car with carbs, points in the distributor, and no turbo. Braking is very good, but handling is phenomenal! (I used to turn in onto narrow sidestreets in Sydney at 50 mph - no problem at all.) Plus, you'll have a car that's a little different from all the others.

I have a 1971 LT1 Corvette convertible with a four speed that is great fun to drive here in the mountains. It's a nuisance in heavy city traffic but I avoid it. I also have a 1957 Ford Thunderbird convertible that is also a lot of fun to drive but it's a car for short distances. It's hard to steer, hard to stop, underpowered but it turns a lot of heads. Ford only made about 50,000 of the 50's single seated Thunderbirds so you don't see many anymore.

Any new car...Until you get use to it..

Maybe a nice cheap 2 seater ( Pontiac Solstice, Mazda Miata Hardtop Convertable)

Or maybe a nice crossover/ small suv..

I can treally tell you because I dont know what kinds of cars you like...
The best thing to do is go to the car manufaturer sites and build a car to your liking, watch the videos and schedule a few test drives
