Is this learnt behaviour, or instinct?

I can't stand them personally.

I love wet cold rainy days only if I am at home and can relax. I get depressed if I have to work and everyone is inside and I have nothing to do.

Oh my goodness, I absolutely hate February, it is the worst month of the winter season, it is so depressing and gloomy. Here in the southeastern region of Pennsylvania we are having freezing rain, ice, snow, 60 mph wind gust and I am sick of it. Ok, I know this is turning into a b i t c h session about the weather, but I have decided to make this my last winter here, come July I am moving somewhere warm, in Florida right now the temps are 85 degrees while here where I am now it is 24 degrees. An occasional dreary day is one thing but months of dreary winter weather is another.

P.S. My kids school was closed today too due to a nasty snow storm.

If your medication isnt working I would suggest trying a new one. I have gone through so many meds and I finally found some that work. I hear ya when it comes to that dark and wet weather I just want to fall asleep till spring comes. I started to push myself to go outside for walks then building up to runs. So talk to your doctor and let him/her know that this has gone too far for you and you would like to get your life back. As someone mentioned Wellbutrin above that stuff will def give you energy and you probably would lose weight.

I think the sun has a lot to do with our moods. People who suffer from seasonal affective disorder will tell you they feel less depressed in front of their light-therapy boxes. The sunlight actually has to get into the eyes to help, thus making me believe it's a biological reaction.

no i find snowy windy blizzard days when you cant even open your car door because the snow is up to the roof and the kids are stuck home because school is closed and it is too cold to them to go out days much more depressing.
(happened today here in vermont, and it is still snowing)

I think it must be learned behavior, because I love them. On wet, cold, and dreary days I feel energized, and I actually think winter, when the trees are bare and the sky is overcast, is beautiful. I love that weather.

It is instinct because it would be depressing for anyone with those weather conditions. Who can blame you?

No i think its just an individual thing - i prefer them - just something nice about the dark, cold weather - prefer it to warm humid days.

Week days, I'm usually too busy at work to notice that kind of weather. Weekends that means I don't have to do any yard work and it's too damp to clean inside, so it's SNUGGLE time! ooooooooo buddy!
