My 2 week old daughter constantly seems like she is hungry. she opens her mouth in search for her bottle everytime she is awake. but when it is time to give her her bottle she refuses it. and she refuses the binky at times. Her doctor suggested we boost up how much we feed her up to 4 oz. and we have and that does great and sometimes she even takes more but i dont want to be shoving a bottle in her face if there is no reason for her to be hungry. so why does she seem like she always is hungry??

Give her something to suck on like a pacifier. Sucking is a natural reflex for babies. She may not be hungry, she is probably looking for something to suck on..it soothes them.

i have a daughter, and she is two weeks also. I really wouldnt be feeding her more than 4 ounces at one feeding, because that is too much for their little bellies. My baby's pediatrician to me that she should be eating about 2 1/2 to 3 ounces right now, until she gets to be 3-4 weeks, then give her 4 ounces. Although my baby eats 4 ounces sometimes right now anyways. my baby does that too with her mouth, but only when she is really hungry.

Do you not understand that there is a difference between hungry and wanting to suck? Try a pacifier to hold her off. If she is eating 4 oz. at a time, she should be able to go at least 3 hours between bottles.

At her age, it is a reflex to turn and look for something to go into her mouth. Just ry and see if she wants a bottle, or a binky... if she has no interest... it's just a reflex, she'll grow out of it in a month or two.

It seems she's just not getting enough to eat. Some babies eat more than others. My daughter was like that. Seemed she was constantly eating. I gave her a little rice cereal with her milk. Make it so it's really just like soup. Easy to swallow and she'll get full.

shes a growing baby, feed her when she wants it. all babies are different and if shes doing great with 4oz keep doing that...and if she wants more give it to her. Shes not going to overeat at 2 wks old.
