Yeah, it's even more eerie if you live away from the city, out in the middle of nowhere. My house is mainly surrounded by woods, so I know what you mean.

I have gone out at midnight after a nice heavy snow fall, when the trees look like someone frosted them with frosting and sparkles and there are no cars out and no body else is out-just me and the snow and the trees and quiet doesn't seem to be the exact right word-peaceful fits better I think! You?

Wouldn't know that feeling. I live on the Gulf Of Mexico, and there is always a breeze rattling the wind chimes and palm trees There is never a perfectly still day here... and like you appreciate your silence, I like the sounds of the sea gulls and the smell of the ocean.

yes, I am listening to snowmobiles in the background... I went outside to try and find my car.... it took me an hour to be able to get the snow out of the way to open the door.... the snow was past my knees!

Oh dear. Just open your eyes and windows. You are only dreaming. It's lousy around here. There are friends in Yahoo. We are here because we don't want to be in a dark room anymore.

I'm with you. That's about the best thing, as we live by a major highway. It's when we can enjoy the house we love!
