I'm doing a paper on all types of marriages and which states allow what type of marriages. Does anyone know if Utah still allows polygamous marriages?

No. They are completely illegal. The Utah Constitution specifically outlaws them and has done so since statehood in 1896. People who practice polygamy (illegally) in Utah are a very tiny minority of the population and are NOT members of the LDS church (the Mormons). They are members of tiny splinter groups.

officially no. they agreed to give up practicing polygamy in order to become a state in the union. that's why most people try to hide it except for the ones who getting the media attention right now. it makes it worse for those who practice it,not admitt it in public. there's lots of info you can google it. take care.
