If you have a disk read error on your playstation 2 console buy a dvd lens cleaning kit for under 12 dollars. Insert the cleaning disk cd into the ps2 system and let it clean. It may take one or two cleanings to fully work. Then clean once a month by repeating the above steps.

call SONY.... Sony has been replacing those yet for a fee.. i imagine for the refurbished one it replaced into sixty 5 funds and to fix the disk study mistakes and sparkling the lens and insides replaced into 40 5 funds. The defective area of lots of the in the previous PS2s that motives those Disc study blunders is the laser that reads the disc. a number of Sonys first PS2s were made with lasers that die out a lot without delay then a disc laser generally ought to,yet lots of the time the laser has no longer actuly died, it only desires some technical modifications to the voltage and the placement.

years ago, the way i solved this problem was with one of those compressed air cans that you can buy in any office supply store, and some rubbing alcohol.

you take the ps2 apart, and clean off the lens with the alcohol, and use the air can to get dust out of hard to reach spots.

i've never heard of a lens cleaning disc being the solution, but then again, it makes perfect sense, since it's doing the same thing i was doing, without the added benefit of losing extra dust

it sounds like the lazer in the ps2 is getting weak. Just a heads up in about 3-5 months they will stop making ps2 games to start saving up for a wii, xbox 360 or a ps3

You may need to change up your laser which reads the media. You can find them pretty cheap these days.
