I got to go with the 1 point in the second half... Why? Because it's a GAME 7 IN THE PLAYOFFS! Everyone knows that the playoffs is how we find out what a player is made of. It's where real STARS(D-WADE) are born and where careers are ended! How are you going to score 81 ponits in the regular season, then turn around and score 1 single point in the 2nd half(the most important half) of a game seven all in the same year? That's PATHETHIC!!!!!
How could you be called the best player in the league doing something like that? No best player in any ERA would of had a game 7 like that! No..Not Wilt, not Magic, not MJ, not Bird, or not any other best player in his era! See when it's lights, camera, action & you see the media everywhere, the ARENA is sold out, you're competing for a title with the best players in the league, and you're on the BIGGEST stage of them all(the playoffs), right there is how you find out how good a player is!... If you're GREAT you should be able to play on any stage!

His 81 point game will define him more than 1 point in game 7 of the playoffs. There wasn't anybody around who thought that 81 points in one game was possible these days. His 1 point in game 7 of the playoffs also contributed to fact that him getting the other players involved was a major factor in the three games The Lakers won in that series. He also was playing on a bad knee, that he had surgery on right after the series ended. If the 1 point playoff game defines anything, it would have to be the change in Kobe Bryant to become a more mature basketball player. He's a better teammate, he gets other players involved earlier in the game. His APG and FG% are up this year and he's taking fewer shots. The only other player in this day and age that can even get close to 81 points in a single game is Gilbert Arenas. Nobody else even has a shot. Not D-Wade, not King James, nobody will hit the 80 point mark again.

With the way the NBA runs today, it's impossible for anyone to score that many points unless it was a deliberate plan. The only way someone can score that many points is if the coach orders the entire team to give him every shot. This kind of thing DOES NOT happen naturally. And considering what kind of guy Phil Jackson is, I'm positive that's exactly what he did. So scoring 81 was not really Kobe's accomplishment, it was a team accomplishment. Wilt's 100 may have been a different story. The entire season he'd been putting up scores in the 60s and 70s. It's possible that his teammates wanted to see if he could break 100, and helped set him up for that by choice. I don't know for sure.

What defines Kobe more is when he and Shaq led the Lakers to three straight NBA Championships from 2000-2002.

The rape defines him. If she wasn't such a wacko, he would have taken the fall. If you ask what defines OJ, I'd say his murder. Pete Rose is defined by his gambling, Denny McLain is defined by his greed and as a thief.
Bonds and McGwire are roids heads and cheaters. It's the reality, get over it.

I agree with you. Kobe's good, but overrated.

But he's a lot better than I'll ever be!
