This question depends on the person. If you like the medical, learn something in it. There will always be a demand. There are a lot of options that a person can take but be careful. Many things you may opt to major in do not have much demand or pay very well. Business degrees are a dime a dozen, just as computer guru's are. If you are a person who like working with tools and your hands you may want to consider a votech school and learn a trade. They are becoming more and more valuable because many people do not want to work where they may get dirty and sweaty, but the pay is often a lot more than you may think. I went to school for 8 weeks to drive a truck and came out of school making 60 grand a year. No boss looking over my shoulder, a nice truck to drive, home every weekend, and can quit today and work somewhere else tomorrow. Just an example.

This is a hard one actually.
My advice is to major in something that interests you AND something that you can make a living at. I think it is absolutely amazing the number of college grads out there who cannot find jobs in their fields. The joke when I was in college were the psychology majors who had about a 2.0 GPA...what do you do with that?
My story was that I was pretty good at a lot of things...I loved history, poli sci and music. As I was deciding which one I should go into, Dad stepped in and strong armed me. At the time, I thought it wasn't fair. He basically said...pick something you can be successful at if you want me to pay for college. Pretty much that meant engineering. Today I am very successful and thank him everyday for what he did. Oh...but I did minor in history and poli sci :)

I received a degree in Criminal Justice. Criminal Justice is a good and board degree when it comes to getting jobs. I would probably tell somebody to major in Nursing, Technology field, Computer field, or anything in the Health Field. That's where the money is at.

Something that will interest you and you will look forward to learning. And it should hopefully lead to a job you will enjoy in the future. Such as you like movie alot, so maybe you want to study drama and film. You can graduate and be able to become an actor or director.

My own shortcomings in my education is the fact that I should have taken up debating and dancing. If you are good at debating you will go far in this world. Dancing speaks for itself. That is one of the most important things that a girl values in a man.

I think History because you need to know History for a lot of things, and it is a wide subject, that many people will think higher of you if you know a lot about it.
I also think science for basically the same reason, it is high level and deep thinking.
