They are going undercover on the internet posing as a young girl to catch PEDIFILES. I guess a pedifile might call it bating but I don't.

honestly no it's not, because police go undercover as prostitutes and that's not bating. Another thing they should be looking into is underage girls who pose as of age women on sites like my space, I think the series shows all sides of perversion if you ask me. the fact that there are real men chatting with real girls who are willingly chatting with older men online, it's obviously happening.
Somewhere right now I am sure there is a underage girl chatting with an older man online, there are chat rooms set up for this behavior, why don't they just shut down the chat rooms? back to the my space thing I had to set my profile so that anyone under 18 couldn't send me a message or an add, because all of the sudden my in box was getting filled with girls who were listing themselves as 16 and even younger than that trying to get me to add them. It seemed a bit strange, and I can bet you that , the dateline nbc series might have been behind that, because I've heard the same from friends who have accounts. One thing I hate about the show is that fact that they go into graphic detail about the chats and as a casual viewer I don't think that's important to know what was said, it's not really my business and i don't care what some sick dude said to a decoy in a chat room, I think nbc uses that to lure even more sick dudes into the sting operations, because now they are busting people who are admitting they saw the show, and had 2nd or 3rd thoughts about showing up or not.
And somehow law enforcement on site know the type of car these dudes drive every time, so if they drive down that street or even come within a few miles of that house they will arrest them, and thats because some states have laws saying it's against the law to ask a minor to have sex with you period, even in a chat room.
All I know is I wouldn't want that sting operation going down next door to my house after seeing what happened with that one dude who killed himself, and having law enforcement chasing down pedophiles on my street isn't something I want to deal with avoiding all day long. I think this is done for entertainment purposes now, and chris hansen is now famous for this show, before he was kind of known, but now he's famous. It's obvious he can further his career from this exposure alone. I think it's good that they do the show, yet I don't think they should go into detail about what people are chatting about, I don't think that's the point of the show, I don't think that makes people more aware, because the show itself is making parents aware of what their child might be doing on the internet.
