i am probably pretty well suited to answer your question for modelling is my sould means of income, and i'm doing pretty darn well....get a list of agencies in your area...and call them to see when they have walk-ins...usually thats how they see new people...

bring a few pictures with you. and look good without having to cake the makeup on and look like your trying to cover something up...they usually have a good eye at spotting the fakes...

one thing i will tell you though, don't get your hopes up, and know when to say when...because i have seen some girls and guys, that just cause some people have said 'you should be a model' they think they are the real deal...and spend half their life pushing for something that isnt going to happen...all-be-it a lot of agencies arent nessecarily looking for the hottest face and bod these days but they are looking for a certain look, naturally pretty and very balanced faces...ie: eyes and ears are the same hieght and such...

good luck...but like i said...dont drown yourself in it if you dont get in...i have seen a lot of decent looking people struggle for years without any success...

Take a few 8x10 head shots with different hair styles and a few full length shots. Get a list of reputable agencies where you live on line. Bring the photos along with vital statistics, ie height, weight, dress size, shoe size, etc. They may have times set aside when they see new people. Check out the composites of other models when you visit so you can see what the competition is presenting.

They may tell you to get professional photos or try to convince you to spend a lot of money on photos. Don't fall for that. There are plenty of photographers out there who will take them at no charge to you. Just be careful who you go to. Check it out first.

The agency may give you a list of photographers for "go sees".
The competition is tough and the work is not easy, but it can be interesting and fun.

I do age, its www.agekids.com
great, plus-sized, average sized, all that
check out the site and call them
if u want to go to a school other than John Casablanca (its a rip off)
then check out www.barbizon.com
age is a great place to start off, but if you dont' want to go there try Ford models!
All you do is call, set up an appointment and then they will ask you questions (interview) and see if your right.
You`ll get a call and from then on strut wat u got!

first you will need at least one headshot and at least one body shot. then I would call first and see if they have any openings.
