Ok i know this one....when asked about a "strength" something good would be.....your a hard worker...very dependable.....get along well with other people..your a team player...your always on time! For weakness....say you are a perfectionist...everything has to be perfect....Believe me they will like that.....or you can say you are a neat freak...that is good cuz it shows you are orderly and like a clean desk. Also you can throw in some humor and when asked about a weakness say" You mean besides starbucks"? Good luck!

Okay, I've got to butt in here. DO NOT, I repeat, do NOT say you are a perfectionist. This is the most over-used and most of the time untrue 'weakness' this is. Also, do NOT say you often work so hard and you work extra hours because you can't pull yourself away. That is see through too, or even worse, the interviewer will think you are working a lot of hours because you cannot prioritize and get your work done in a timely fashion.
Now - you need to find something that you really do have as an opportunity to improve. Don't think of it as a weakness, as something you are bad at. Think of it as something that you've been working hard at improving. Don't be afraid to say something along the lines of..."One of the challenges I've faced is (fill in the blank) so I've taken the opportunity to improve myself in that area" That shows the interviewer that you know you have areas to improve (unlike those hard working perfectionists) and that you are working to improve them. So I challenge you to come up with your own area of opportunity and really work on it.
Strenghts are easy and endless. Are you loyal, dedicated, determined? Determination goes a long way!!!

Ok everyone knows that the hard part about this is the weakness part...so I'll start on that!
You need to find a weakness that isnt quite a weakness. And a tip for you is to not be over the top like "I work far too hard" everyone knows this is total BS! Something like my desk is often too cluttered with paperwork sometimes making it hard to find the right report quickly enough. It's a weakness, but something that isnt going to change the ability to do the work.
Strengths are easy...and depends on what you're good at.

They're not asking if you think you should quit smoking or drinking.....don't refer to your weaknesses as weaknesses...call them opportunities. Here are 9 leadership elements you should know. pick one as a strength and one as a need:
-Manage execution: getting things done on time
-Manage performance: effectively dealing with problem performers working for you
-Communicate effectively : written/ oral/ non verbal communication, do you listen?
-Strategic Planning: being organized
-Demonstrate Courage: challenging supervisors appropriately
-Demonstrate Accountability : taking ownership for actions, positive and negative
-Build Trust : sharing appropriate personal information, being able to take partnerships effectively
-Maximize Relationships: Being able to get people to do what you want through your effective use of your relationships
-Drive Change: take everything with a positive attitude, new company initiatives, don't complain, see the positive things in all situations.
good luck

for strengths mention everything and butter it up....as far as weaknesses...i got a great job by saying...'my weakness is that i cant pull myself away from my work. i work long hours, and sometimes need to stay extra atthe office because i cant rest from something till i am done.'...when they ask you is there anything else you would like to ask....say 'would it be a problem to stay at the office extra hours to make sure everything is done' and your in!
