Well there's been so many of them…

May be Swans who did two versions one a red vinyl with male (Michael Gira) vocals and one black limited edition vinyl with female (Jarboe) vocals.

10,000 Maniacs have a live version

Nouvelle Vague have a sort of 'french lounge room' version

and Stanton-Miranda had a version on the Means to an End Joy Division 'tribute' album.

I could go on and on - I kinda collect Joy Division covers

Probably your best bet is to go onto itunes, search for love will tear us apart and see from the 30 seconds if your version is in there.

Do a search for the band on google..they have an album out of cover versions and its wicked.Making Plans For Nigel is another great track on the album..
its on iTunes too....

You're probably thinking of the Nouvelle Vague version. She has a couple of cover albums out.

i have a version by an icelandic group called worm is green,the cd is called automagic,the singer is female (her name is gudridur ringsted) and its such a fantastic version,really haunting.
