its called being shallow.
most men choose to base their opinions on the opposite sex on looks alone. in doing so, they manage to blow off many people whom could have become their best friends and confidants.
i married a very wonderful, smart, funny, sensitive, boisterous woman. she isn't ms. america, but, she fulfills every need I have and she is my best friend and closest advisor.
If he chooses to not like you because of your looks, then is he really worth having as a friend in the first place? I think not. find new friends who will appreciate you for who you are, not for what you look like.

Why in the world would you think you're ugly? If you think you are, then you're letting him know that he should think so too. That's not fair to either one of you. I could tell you to tell yourself it's not true every day, but I don't think you'll believe it.
Does he talk to you, without your prompting? Is he kind to you? If he is, he likes you. If not, the best way to make someone like you is to be friendly to him.

um, the first thing you need to do is ask him. Then figure out whether or not he does and if he does then ask him out and if he doesnt just be really nice and do things that he likes and then he might start to like you
