school. but ppl @ school barely know me and they don't so i get these mixed signals whether im pretty or not.

My guess is you probably are pretty and some jealous and insecure girls have gotten people to ignore you.

Ooooh dear... this sounds like the 'committment' bugaboo.. Boys out of the school think a girl is very cute.. but act cool while they are IN the school.. Well they don't want to act like they are committed to any one girl.. they want to be free.. this is learned very early by the boys. They probably have seen what clinging vine girlfriends have done to some of their friends and they don't want to be roped and tied by anybody just yet. If you have just started going to this school then the students will all be curious about you. Don't worry about being 'pretty'. Being friendly and having a ready smile is important. You can stare at somebody for just so long and then you have to actually talk with them. Keep low key unless you know the student you are talking to is a nice person. Believe me you Will be judged by the company you keep and word goes around on a reputation at the speed of light. Make friends with serious students and fun people that stay out of trouble. They will both be welcome at your parents home and vice versa. If you want to break the ice with a person and be able to say hello to them in the hall.. then I suggest you pick out something they have with them.. a nice notebook, a ring or jewelry, a nice shirt and compliment them on it or ask if they got it as a gift. "That shirt looks good on you.. is (color) your favorite color? That's a nice watch did you get it for your birthday?. You can do it. Give it a shot. After you break the ice you can say Hi.. how you doing? to that person everyday.. :) take care and chose your friends wisely ...

The real problem is that people in high school feel it necessary to objectify others with labels like hot. Don't worry about what you see in the mirror, worry about the kind of character you're developing.

in high school a lot of the attention that you can get has very little to do with what you actually look like. It has to do with who you know and what is your reputation.

Don't worry about what other people think about you. Some people will think your pretty, but some won't. Just ignore them.
