I've certainly never heard it before. :] It's very unique.

But of course, you may want to make sure Merris fits in with the story that you're writing.

It kinda sounds boring to me! When you come up with a name that you are proud of that should be your final name instead of asking what do you think! You great name will come maybe you question should be I am writing a book an i need some names for charaters!

i would reconsider the name just because I know when i read a book, the name means a lot to me, and changes how you view the character. It also depends on the character, and it says a lot about the author, and their patience for names. It might be perfect for you character, but be sure for it. If you want, you can email a character description to me and I could give you advice. also my really good friend alycat534 is really good with books, and you can email her.... yes we are two different people, I know our name is similar........ but we are both willing to help.

As long as the main character is named Merris, then it is fine.

It would be important to know what the story is about to pick a good name.

Totally; it's one of kind. It has sort of a Medieval Romance ring to it. It's the name of a true epic hero!
