Wao is not a province but an isolated town of Lanao. It is accessible only via the province of Bukidnon. You do not know Philippine geography so it seems you're a foreigner. And if you have the map consider me as your guide.

The story (myth?) of the Yamashita treasure seems to never die.

I, of course, don't know for sure, but feel that it never stayed in The Philippines. Japan was so desperate for cash that ANY gold or other valuables would have gone to the government there, regardless of the difficulties in transporting it (a submarine seeking to avoid Allied contact could have been used).

Where is "Wao"? I don't know that province.

That was recovered long ago by the late F. Marcos. Well "rumor has it" (I don't know how true since I wasn't born yet that time) that Rogelio Roxas was the one who actually recovered the treasure somewhere in Baguio but was taken away from him by Marcos, and that's partly what constitutes his great wealth, he dug up all the Cambodian gold that was left here by the Japanese and collectively and conveniently acquired it and put somewhere safe, probably in Swiss Bank? But now that you've mentioned Wao, supposedly a town in Lanao... and Lanao is in Ilocos Sur, the home town of the Marcoses, your querry must be true. (So that's where they're keeping it all this time?!!!)
