Oscars are aggressive towards one another. You don't specify large grown ones or the small ones.
If you have only 2 or 3 they will be more aggressive than if you have 6. Males will threaten each other but will only really hurt one another if one is trying to breed and wants all others to stay away. Red tiger or red oscars will show aggression and even kill albinos.. If there is not enough room they will fight for territory/

Definately. But not right away. They'll be cute & cuddly for a few months. Then when they start reaching sexual maturity they turn into monsters with territory to defend. Most oscars try to kill anything in a 3-10 foot territory in nature, especially other oscars.

Their mating ritual involves lip locking which can also be construed as fighting... especially since a male will sometimes kill what he determines to be an unsuitable mate.

Especially if you have decorations (hiding spots, plants, etc.)
They are a VERY Territorial species.
This is very common if you have a tank less than 45 gallons (1 adult can require this much alone). If you have a 100+ gallon this is rare, only if you remove the decorations.

i have 2 oscars and 2 choclate cichlids in a 130 gal. tank they like to charge one another and get in little tiffs but they have never really hurt each other

oscars will eat anything that will fit in their mouths and some things that won't. they require at least a 75 gallon tank for EACH fish, as they grow quickly. some, but not most, will live together but that is unlikely. if you have more than one, yes, look for it to happen, especially if they feel crowded.

not all will. a friend of mine has a tank (granted, it is MASSIVE) with five oscars in it, and they swim together in formation, and seem to get along well. every now and again they will wrestle, and that is HIGHLY amusing.
