I guess you'll never know.

Our emotions are complicated and complex. When we're happy based on an event, i.e.good grades etc, it could be underlined by something that has been tugging on our heartstrings, i.e. family issues etc. So in such cases, we are consciously happy but subconsciously not. Is this being superficially happy? Is superficially being happy still happiness?

But then, of course if everyone thinks in such a way, there's bound to be a pack of people under depression. I think, happiness comes from everything that we experience whether happy or sad. To learn things that we would learn from pain and sadness, makes you learn what being happy is.

Yet there isn't a way to know whether you're really happy. No one is really 100% happy, but that's what makes happiness even more precious. I guess you have to believe you are happy.

Well, I'll answer with the assumption that happiness is a state of mind rather than a mood. You can be elated over winning the lottery, for example, and two years later be just as depressed as you were before you won. Happiness is more permanent than this, and is tied up with satisfaction. This in turn is involved with most people in doing good things for people. Mother Teresa certainly died happy, even though she lived without any luxuries whatsoever. Winning a Nobel Peace Prize could bring happiness. Of course you don't need to be a hero or a saint in order to achieve happiness. My point is you can't achieve it by living a small, self-centered life. You have to live largely.

You'll feel bursting with goodness, and your energy is soaring up and you are smiling.Negative matters does not affect you,you would think it is funny and you are so sympathetic with others. Like that happiness is a shield that surrounds you, that nothing bad can penetrate you,you feel that when you are in love, with someone new. But by changing the pattern of your mind you can retain that happiness with you. It is really fun!!

well from my side, if you have to be really happy you need to get away from where you now to a far away place where you can meet with resources of life thats are given naturally to us in this world, to clear your mind feelings and relax your body , find some God given sights like a rock near some beach where waves break and see how the sun sets on the horizon and imagine how it likely to be in that form everyday and see wonders of the touch of God that no body seem to care of and instead we find some artificial things to do find happiness.

If you genially feel good at the end of the day. Then whether or not your happy through the day matters its about how you look back on what you did throught the day.

If you are at peace praying helps. You have all the things money can't buy because that is priceless. For eg love, fresh air, looking around at nature and animals watching sunsets and sunrises.
