In the 2003 SOTU address when Bush lied and made the now infamous 16 word statement about Iraq seeking yellow cake uranium from Niger, I knew then and there that he was lying about the WMD connection. The fact that it was later omitted from the SOTU was the icing on the cake. George Tenet and the CIA took responsibility for the gaff. But the other day at the Scooter Libby trial, Richard Armitage was caught on tape saying that the White House was responsible for the gaff. And some Americans still stand by this man who lied us into war. Unbelievable.

So many other ways we could have handled the Iraq problem. Bad information?? I belive it he was looking for any excuse to go in WMD was it .Once the yellow cake got leaked by Chaney well baby Cowboy up. He got the approval of the congress by deceptions and now Republicans and Democrats alike are ashamed of there vote.

I'm glad to know that you base all your evaluations of foreign policy on whether the President has complete and perfect information about trivial side issues. There was more than enough justification to take out Saddam with or without the WMD issue. Not necessity, granted, but justification.
PS - They have found sarin shells - made in France and sold *after* the 1993 ceasefire, BTW - those are chemical weapons, in case you didn't know. Hans Blix identified more than one device whose 'only conceivable purpose' (his words, not mine) was the dispersion of chemical or biological weapons. He made a point of not mentioning them in his presentation to the Security Council because he was more interested in sticking it to the US than protecting lives; but the information is in his printed reports.

No of course not. That is why he had falsified intelligence given to Congress, the UN and the American people.
They wanted this war no matter what and were going to get it no matter what.
