I live in Louisiana and I lost my Birth Certificate...How do I get a copy and is there a way i can get it for free and if not how much does it cost.I am getting married on July 28 and I need my Birth Certificate.

Call the town clerk in the town where you were born, and ask for a certified copy.

Or, look on the internet and see if there are services that can get you a certified copy, so you don't have to do the hassle. (I just had to do this myself, for another reason).

I would imagine that the cost might be like $20.

Contact the records department of the city in which you were born. Usually, there is a form to fill out and you have to send them a check for some amount -- it varies from place to place.

Search for your city online, and there may be y\the information you need on its website.

Go to the county that you were born in.You will need proof of who you are,Drivers license or state I D. Tell them the name of your parents,Your date of birth and Your name. There will probably be a couple of dollars fee. The local board of health is the place to go.

you will need to go tothe bureau of vital statistics or call or reach them for an address and price to get it it will probaly be in baton rouge if thats where you were born louisiana that is. if you were born in another state you will have to go through that states you will need to know what town you were born in and what parish if another state what county good luck
