first, add -3x and 5x. then add 13 and 13. so you get 2x+26=2. then you need isolate the 2x so you subtract 26 from BOTH sides and end up with 2x=-24. and then you divide -24 by 2 and get the answer :)

combine one side -3x+5x=2x add 13+13 26
than its 2x+26=2 subtract 26 =2x=-24 divide by two and you answer is -12
