that must have been some trip she won to get hit on 1500 taxes (I smell a scam!)...anyway, she will have to amend her return using form 1040X "Amended U.S. Individual Income Tax Return". Include copies of any schedules that have been changed or any form W-2 you did not include. The Form 1040X should be submitted after you receive your refund or by the due date of the return, whichever, is earlier. Use this link to print the form you need http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1040x.pdf
Keep in mind, if you wait after your taxes are due to amend your return and pay any overdue taxes then you will have to pay interest (they will figure this out and send you a bill). The longer you wait the more interest you will pay, Good luck!

If your girlfriend won the trip, what does it have to do with YOUR taxes? Or are you saying that SHE has already done her taxes? And it shouldn't have been a W-2 - I assume you mean 1099.

In any case, whoever won the prize has to pay taxes on it, for the year where the prize was won. You can't just wait until next year. The person who won will have to file an amended return to report the amount, and pay any additional tax that's due. If it's done before April 17, 2007, there won't be any interest or penalties.

Your taxes being done already doesn't matter if it is your girlfriend (meaning not married) won the trip. The prize goes on her taxes. You wouldn't have gotten a W2, she would have gotten a 1099.

If her taxes are already done, she will have to file an amended return for 2006.
