Should God bear any importance for the Presidency? That is to say, should our "leader of the free world" believe in God? If yes does this mean that God is our ultimate "source of strength" and if not why?

I think that God should bear a great deal of importance for the Presidency. Of course, I'm a bit prejudiced because I believe in God myself. But that is because I have my reasons -- the same reasons I think are important to be considered when someone wants to be the "leader of the free world".

Belief in God brings about results, for the most part... it makes one aware of their actions and their conscience, of a standard of right and wrong; it makes them seekers more than dictators.

If someone can look around at the world, humanity, and the universe, and deny a Creator, what else can they deny?

I just think that the President of the United States should be expected to be honest, upstanding, and with a good dose of humility, because he believes that he is held accountable. I do think that God is our ultimate "source of strength" and therefore that a Presidency without that will not be optimal.

Hope this was the kind of answers you were looking for... :-)

It has absolutely no importance to me. The next president could be Atheist, Buddhist, Christian, etc. and it wouldn't matter, just as long as he or she ran the country well.

I don't think that believeing in god and running a nation have anything to do with each other.

No. I don't care what religion the president is.
