1 - Why was President Andrew Johnson impeached? Was it the right action to take?

2 - Why did FDR instill confidence when he took office? Give an example.

Thank you so MUCH!

Andrew Johnson wanted to fire some of the cabinet secretaries of Abraham Lincoln. They did not want to go. They made up the theory that because the Senate had to vote to advise and consent to their appointment, the Senate would have to agree to their removal. I think that Andrew Johnson was never impeached. Impeachment means an indictment, leading to trial in the Senate. I think that Bill Clinton was the first president ever impeached. But he was not convicted.

Pardon friends: Tell me about this.

FDR gave hope in all his pronouncements. But the greatest was, "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself."

Sorry to the guy above but Andrew Jhonson was Impeached.
Add this is the scary part , both parties agreed on it.

Bill Clinton , was impeached as well but Nither were actually Censured , which is when the US Senate decides that a presidents decisions are so ill reflective of the nation , that the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court doles out what a reasonable fine or rebuke might be.

Andrew Jhonson Impeachment was indicitive of the agreement by both sides that he was not whom they wished in the white house. After Linclon's assination this was really obvious. Jhonson was a democrat , Linclon a Republican this being the only split ticket in history (see , it really does happen!). While both sides agreed easily on Linclon, the side that dissent was called the confederacy. Jhonson was simply a vice president chosen to show unity as Linclon wanted.

Because Herbert Hoover was economically inefective at re-starting the american economy. It's no suprise shanty towns in the great depression were dubbed "hoovervilles"

Hope that starts ya rollin'.....
