Ignorance is more of a lack of a certain knowledge due to not being informed of it.
Stupidity is a relative term and can be adapted to most any situation.

Ignorance: A deer gets blinded by headlights & jumps into the path of the oncoming vehicle, it didn't know what way to run. Stupidy: Intenionaly smash your finger with a hammer, you know it will cause pain.
