Well, there are plenty of devices that will allow you to play MP3s on a DS. If you get a flashcard (such as an R4 or M3 DS Simply at RealHotStuff.com) and a microSD card, you can just copy your music and enjoy! Plus you can do other great things w/ a flashcard. They're like $40-45, plus the cost of a microSD ($20 at Fry's). For the official Nintendo mp3 player, you also need to buy an SD card.

The one you want is called the "Play-Yan." It's compatible with all 3 Game Boy Advance systems as well as both DS's. There are other knock-offs that you can purchase at Wal-Mart, GameStop, and Best Buys (and similar boutiques, you get my point ;p), but this is the only officially licensed one and the most practical. Here is a link to purchase it. http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-1e-49-en-70-xfo.html
My sources are actually a review, the above URL, and the announcement of the Play-Yan. Hope I helped.

I recently got an M3 Simply, it's awesome, works like a dream! I don't think my DS will ever be the same without it! I got it off here:

If it's already sold, just ask him if he's got anymore =)
Happy Gaming!
