The librarian where I teach used this as her challenge word. It was not in any of the dictionaries. Of course, it is a word I use all the time. Actually, I just heard of it today.

Heavens, Gorky! It's Valentine's Day. There was a kerfuffle at Target because so many MEN wait till the last minute to purchase a gift for their sweetheart (s). The unfortunate nincompoops who arrive at home empty-handed will encounter a significant fuss and disturbance.
Thank you for the Word of the Day. I shall incorporate this into my everyday speech. It's so much more amusing than commotion.
