My Gran's birthday was a COMBINED party because she was born on Valentine's day. It made her a very special hostess of honour.
She would have expected you to show up for a while, then be off with your girlfriend or boyfriend. She loved youth and the young, and was young in her enthusiasm for life and for any reason to celebrate.
My mum was that way as well. I had an enchanted childhood!!!

Why not? I would if I knew of the birthday plans before I made any Valentines plans.
Valentines is a nothing more than a boring Hallmark (can u say cha-ching?) wannabe sales orgasm anyway.
Just depends on which plans you made first. A person of their word would try their best to stick with those... If another invite comes up make it for the day before or the day after if it's not possible to combine the two.

hi there I would invite my sweet heart to the party but if he tells me that he can not and rather spend it with me then I would stay with him .but if he is not around on valentines day then I would shoot to the party and have a nice time. talk to him first ask him what he would like to do for valentines day why not have your own party with your love. romance is in the air today .

I'd do both. Valentine's day is an invented holiday that doesn't require a full 24 hours to observe. Card, flowers, meal, bedroom, quick shower, taxi to meet your friend.

I would go the party, maybe bring my beau with me... but I would rather be with my friend on their birthday (but I have never had a birthday, and all of my friends are turning sixteen now, so I would rather be with them than something that doesn't exist, but still.)

Yes, depends on who you are with in the party, if you are with your friends, go. But if they are not going, then maybe you should not go and spend the time with them, depends on which is more important, friends, or party

girlfriends/boyfriends may come and go, but real friends are forever. I'd take my significant other to the party with me.

Yes, my friend wouldn't have thrown a party on V-Day that couples weren't allowed to. I would go as a couple, you could always go to a nice dinner afterwards or make her a nice dessert afterwards or beforehand.
