One "idea of religion" and many different beliefs? Part 2?

Question

I wish I could keep the original open for a longer period of time, so I have created this one. Please continue to respond. I will look for where I can put this on a blog or something, because I find it to be very interesting. I am learning from everyone and hope that everyone is learning from me. I appreciate all responses whether negative or positive because I believe without each there is no Peace. I am not saying love and war, because too much of either can be bad or good at any given point. Soon I hope to add more to my question but will like to keep adding as another part or added detail. Thank you very much.

An "Idea of Religion"? I didn't see the original so I'm not sure if this was covered.

Basically, the "Idea of Religion" is whack. All religions everywhere are just plain nuts. You say you are not talking about love and war, but what are the main ideas of any religion? That's right, love and war. You love the god you believe in, and, should you find someone not in agreement with those beliefs, you go to war with them. More blood has been shed, lives taken, freedom renounced in the name of religion than any other thing on the planet. Just look at what is happening in the Middle East. And, no, I'm not talking about Iraq. That's a totally different subject altogether.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not an Atheist. I was born into the Southern Baptist belief system. I attended church 2 - 3 times a week growing up. But, through many life changing events, I have resolved to being an Agnostic.

The "Idea of Religion" is just that, an idea. And, as anyone can attest, not all ideas are good.

I never saw your original, so here's what I have to say If you want to know how to get to heaven there's only one way ( I did NOT say one religion ) you have to accept the gift of Jesus dieing on the cross for your sins...HE took our punishment...and HE IS THE BRIDGE TO GOD AND THOUS TO HEAVEN .....

I am with u all the way,theres too many religions and beliefes.religion can,t bring peace cuz if it did we have it already, right?only god can thats what i think.
