Most of the pieces are already in place. They just need to find away to help Rex be the good Rex consistantly and if he cant find someone who can. I think they should keep Grossman and bring in someone to challenge him. They also need to keep their defense healthy. That will come with consistancy out of the QB postion because they wont be on the field as much.

Thomas Jones is the better back right now but with the contract that Benson has he would want to step up and be the undisputed best in Chicago or he could be out of a job if he isnt worth the money.

All they're really lacking is a consistent QB and expecting a QB that young to have the consistency of a veteran QB is ridiculous. He took them to a Super Bowl (and you can't say it was their defense the whole way because they had a good stretch towards the end of the season that their defense was awful). I think you keep Rex but you bring somebody in to make it competitive. Give him a few games into the season and if he doesn't perform up to the standard that's when you go with your #2. Plain and simple.

As far as backs I like Thomas Jones, he has good work ethic and gets it done. I think that the two back system works because it keeps your guys healthier by taking the full load off of one RB.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Work with your QB situation but keep the rest intact because that's what got you to a Super Bowl.

Note: And Grossman might as well be a rookie, this was the first season he played a full season as a starting QB.

LIFE-LONG BEARS FAN!!!

I think these are things the Bears MUST do to win the big one next season:

1. Resign Lance Briggs, he is one of the best OLB in the game! (if not they need to get Paul Posluszny (spelling?), or Patrick Willis (if he's available) or someone of that nature who might be able to fill the void).

2. Develop Rex. FOR ALL THE RETARDS WHO ANSWRED BEFORE ME, HE WASN'T A ROOKIE! This was his first full season and I feel he did a good job. But may I remind you, we played the weakest teams in the NFC this year. These are the NFC teams (non-division) we faced this year: Seattle, Arizona, NYG, Tampa Bay, St. Louis, and San Francisco. These are the NFC (non-division) teams we will face this upcoming year: Philly, New Orleans, Dallas, Washington, Carolina, and Atlanta. None of those teams are a guaranteed win, well maybe the Skins. So Rex has to limit turnovers and play smart, fast. He MUST get better this offseason.

3. Play consistent. We cannot have those games where are terrific defense crumbles to the PACKERS! They need to be on top of their game at all times, offensively and defensively.

We do all that, we will win it for sure because our team probably is the best in the league, no doubt.

Here's the thing: Grossman was a ROOKIE!!

Get off his backside! He had a much better rookie season than:
Brett Favre
Dan Marino
Carson Palmer, and surprise surprise
Peyton Manning.

His season was better statistically and record-wise. And yet the idiot "experts" consider him the "worst Super Bowl QB ever."

Trust me, he'll be fine.

As far as the running game goes, Benson and Jones are, IMHO, the best tandem in the NFL. Benson has the starter's job whenever he chooses to take it. Jones is kind of a hybrid back, while Benson is a downfield runner with surprising moves. But Benson will not get any closer to the starting back position until he actually tries.

this is an obvious answer a QUARTERBACK look at the s**t they got rex grossman will never be good enough because he has weapons and still can't get it done. They may also need another big play reciever i.e. Randy Moss or someone like sindney rice in the draft. They will also need Tank Johnson to stay out of trouble with the law. Other than those few minor errors assuming they get a quarterback (Kevin Kolb second round or a free agent) then they will be legitimate superbowl contenders next year

They need to play in the AFC and play against AFC teams weekly. They will dominate the NFC for the next few years and there won't be any reason to improve because of a ridiculous regular season record again poor opponents. The team is a few tweaks away from a super bowl and I don't think Rex can be blamed for everything. This team still gave up 29 points to Indy.

Well, they need a reliable QB. Rex was lucky that he had a great defense on his side. Otherwise they have good recievers and a very good defense. Now for the running backs, Thomas Jones is better no question.

The team is fine. They would have won the super bowl this year if they took rex out at half-time. Rex is young and will have to get out of his habit of relying on his defense and grow up. He is just not a mature person yet and you can see that on and off the field.

The Bears need a quarterback - but moreso than that, they need a proven leader on the field. Most teams have people that they can turn to for leadership on the field (Baltimore - Ray Lewis, Green Bay - Brett Favre, Seattle - Shaun Alexander, etc.) The Bears don't have anyone like that, and until they get a quarterback AND someone that is willing to take a leadership role on the team, they will not have any Super Bowls coming to them any time soon.

Get rid of Rex (he cost the Bears the game)
Trade Benson (he's a tea-sipper that took his que's from Ricky Williams)
Keep Thomas Jones.
