i keep getting dragged into their life dramas. obviously dont want to be friends but they dont get the hint. tried it all. am rude, dont answer dont visit. they just keep on calling. and yes, i know this is what friends do. i just dont want to anymore.

just start disappearing, it works for me. Turn your cell phone off, get in your car, and drive to a nearby city or town, get a hotel room for the weekend, find somewhere else to hide.
the most important thing is to make yourself hard to find and get a hold of, if you're never around people will stop trying to find you.

I would change your phone number too. Is moving without leaving a forwarding address possible? Eventually they will give up when they find another person to tell every intimate detail of their personal soap operas. It may take a while, so if moving in the middle of the night isn't an option, be prepared to wait them out.

Stop all contact with everyone and don't answer any phone calls or messages period. Whether they get the hint or not, you won't be talking to them.
