To clear up some confusion: one of the responders said that Shirley always stopped Laverne at the last second--not true. There was an episode where Laverne had a pregnancy scare once!

Neither was promiscuous. Shirley always stopped Laverne from "going all the way" at the last second. Both were having a little trouble rising to the occasion, but Shirley was outright stupid and irratating. Laverne easily wins this matchup as she was the one always out front and ready for a little fun.

Both of them were just a great couple of friends, my favorite show back in the day's, it was a good show could never get enough of it!
