At one time, there had been reports that Warner Bros. was hoping to get this movie in theaters for the summer of 2007 (since they don't have a superhero movie yet for that summer, unlike 'Batman Begins' in 2005 and 'Superman Returns' in 2006), but that no longer looks likely.
There is no production start date for this project. At this point, with the script still being worked on, the earliest it might start could be sometime in 2007.

Director and writer Joss Whedon recently pulled out of the production, after spending years writing and pushing his script. The thought is for a 2009 release date. Did you know that there was talk of Katharine McPhee from American Idol in the lead role? The rumours were flying.

It looks like it is still in limbo. Almost sounds like what happened with the superman movie for a few years.
They've talked about several actresses for wonderwoman. My pick is Jennifer Connolly, but I don't know if she is even been considered.

I don't know when it was supposed to be released, but since Joss Whedon has stepped down as director because of creative differences, it might be longer than originally planned for the film to be released. They are still working on a script, so it probably won't be released anytime this year.

It has been pushed back more than once and yet again until 2009...Still no director, no cast, no nothing.
I have been looking into it for at least two years and still no progress...

Well Lynda Carter is currently having a hip replacement but is looking to be in good shape :)
