I have a boyfriend, and we've been together for, off and on, about 3 years. But he didn't get me anything for Valentine's Day. Does anyone have an idea why? Or any idea what I should do??

Believe me if i have learned anything from couples therapy its that men and women use different parts of their brain What we view as important is different than what they see as important. Its probably not that your boyfriend does not care, its just that he sees things from a different point. Is he good to you otherwise? Believe me sometimes you just have to spell it out for them . Try to look at all the good things he does . Sometimes they outweigh
the things he forgets! Always let him know what you want and try to forgive him. Making up is the best part!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. Welcome to Yahoo Answers. Happy V-Day!!

I would say because you deserve better and he is just not perfect for you. He may be a nice fit, and many people can be happy with a "nice fit" but you cant be stupid, dumb in love, slapstick, blissfully happy with just a nice fit. You can find a more appreciative person who is so good for you, that they just "know" that being recognized on Valentines Day is important without you needing to hint or say a word. Just remember that things like this are a good indication of what will happen in the future. Having a valentines day is such a minor, easy to do thing, that still means alot, and if he cant pull it together, then you need dismiss him and wait for the man you "just knows" to come along.

Hey, I got homework for Valentine's Day so I wouldn't be complaining!

It would have been nice to get nothing at all!

Well, are you more on, or more off? If you're more off, that's why. If you're more on, maybe he didn't realize it meant so much to you. Or maybe you think you're "on" and he feels more "off" and he's trying to tell you something. If he is incapable of committment to you and only you, maybe you should find a permanent "on" guy. Just my 2 cents...

Don't expect thing from your boyfriend every V-Day. If he works and has an apartment, your just pushin' your luck.

Off and On and you're stll around? Dump him, he thinks more of himself than he does you. Even if he doesn't believe in these money mongering holidays a card and a rose would do.

Sounds like he just doesn't care all that much about you (unless you find out that he had a family emergency or something serious like that). Sorry.
