I'm curious to know just how bad the cockroach problem in Hawaii really is. Does the average apartment have them? How often do you see them around? Is it a daily battle or is it just the occasional one here and there? How hard is it to control them?

Cockroaches are definitely more of a problem here in Hawaii, where it never gets cold, then on the mainland. No matter where you live, no matter how clean you are, you will see at least an occasional cockroach in your home.

It's important to keep your food in well-sealed containers, keep your sink clean, and take the trash out so that the bugs don't find anything to eat. If you spray your apartment that certainly helps control them, but we still see at least a couple of roaches a week (including HUGE 2" long ones).

We also get gecko lizards in the house pretty often, and the occasional ant problem. We don't mind the geckoes because they bugs.

I'm sure it is the same wherever you go!
