One snowflake does not a global cooling make. Nor does one Nor'easter.

Someone mentioned that 1000 journal articles on global warming do not contain any that say that it is not happening. However, 60 scientists claim that there is no global warming caused by humans going on:

If we can believe both of these, then that means that none of these 60 scientists wrote journal articles on global warming. A perusal of Ian D. Clark's articles shows some on global warming, but for the statement that no articles disprove global warming (included in Al Gore's movie) to be correct, that would mean that none of those articles say anything about global warming being caused by humans, and the same for the other 59 scientists in the statement.

Nevertheless, the evidence does seem to suggest global warming is going on. Comparing arctic ice from year to year, which can be done on NOAA's site, shows a definite reduction. The hurricanes seem to be more powerful, with 2006's dud year seemingly caused by an insipient El Nino. The waters are rising higher in Chesapeake Bay and the Louisiana delta. So to me this is a problem that humanity needs to address, as well as the problem of running out of cheap fossil fuels (peak oil).

It doesn't matter how much snow you have to shovel. If it's 170 inches (e.g., Mexico, NY), then nearby you there is only 12 inches on the ground. One must look at overall trends, not just one snowstorm. The storm came after a huge Arctic outbreak, like one 20 years ago that caused -6 in Richmond, VA. This year it was only 9 at the lowest. So the cold snaps are getting warmer.

Global warming is happening. Something needs to be done about it.

Someone needs to explain how 'weather' and 'climate' are different.

CO2 is 30% higher than it has been for 650,000 years. Methane is 130% greater. These are two of the main pollutants humans put into the atmosphere in excess, and they are two of the primary greenhouse gases.

Look at the 'hockeystick', which shows a dramatic warming since 1950 after a fairly stable climate for 1000 years. In fact, the 10 hottest years in recorded history have all happened since 1990, with 2005 being the hottest.
(see links below)

How's that for proof of man's fault in this? There is ample proof, any real scientist will tell you that.

There has NEVER been an article doubting man's influence on global warming published in a peer-reviewed journal. A recent study of almost 1000 proved that.

Yes, the earth naturally heats and cools, but the rate and amount we are warming now is unprecedented in the recent geologic past. We are doing this, and we must stop it. This is not some political statement or rhetoric. This is science trying to educate a crass, ignorant public of the damage they are doing. The magnitude of temperature increase ALREADY is about 10x that of the 'little ice age' of the middle ages, and rate and amount are only going up.

Just to be clear, glacial and interglacial cycles are mainly controlled by astronomical fluctuations, but we have a detailed record of the last 7 cycles, and what the climate and CO2 is doing now is way different and extreme. The rate of increase is much higher than in the past AND the value itself is much higher.

LOL I agree. Not to be mean to the environment but it is freezing and snowing where I am. So where the heck is the warming?
