I am a freshman in highschool. I am quite gifted in many things and am pretty sure I can do almost anything I want to.
My ideal job would be the following:
-It would challenge me everyday
-It would require intellect (for example, i would not choose to be a accountant or a salesman because I would feel like that is not my purpose in life since I could have done more for myself and the world)
-It would be something that would directly help people
-It would be something that does take normal work hours yet will not interfere with happines because of work
-It has to make money too
-It has to be intellectually interesting

I really wish someone could give me some really good guidance. It would really make a difference in my life if someone would give me a resource that outlined various occupations rather than one or two specific ones, but any guidance would be appreciated.

You have some time. I would call around to colleges and go look at the courses they offer and what the different fields have going for them. Maybe ask to sit in on a class or two. I'd also get close to the guidance person at school and explain to them what you are feeling they may be able to steer you towards at least some options to look into. Go to some facilities in the area and ask if you can be a student at work for a few days during breaks to see what they do...most professionals will be thrilled to do so. There are things you can do...any person in your life a relative or a family friend do anything that interests you? Try to find out what they actually do, go to work with them if possible. I think it's great that you are thinking of this now, it means you are smart. That means you will find a way to figure it out and will become someone that is a service to mankind, I just know it. Good luck.
